Brunel Swivel Bridge Project Photos March 2015
This month it was all about interpretation boards, surveying and erecting a temporary shelter over the turntablePage contents
Saturday 21st March
Shelter, surveying and interpretation boards. What gets me is that there is different types of activity wherever you look.
Mike Bone and Maggiehaving just installed an interpretation board on the post we put up in February (funded by Clifton and Cabot Neighbourhood Partnership). The shelter being erected in the background |
Julian videoing Mike attaching the board while Maggie is supporting it |
Geoff adding some finishing touches. The other board was installed on the railings |
Instant attention from passers by. The shelter getting on fast in the back ground |
Mike, Graham, Geoff, and Tom (Structural Engineer) starting to build the shelter |
Soon taking shape. Haberfield House of Hotwells rising up to Cornwallis Crescent and then Royal York Crescent in the background |
Bridge House! or is it Noah's Ark? |
Getting longer |
Graham and Mike with the long drill |

Tom from IStruc E brought Vince, James and Chris to help with surveying. Julian filming |

Sunday 22nd March
Shelter and surveying. The other half of the shelter over the turntable will be put up in April. Lots of sun, teamwork. What more could anyone ask for?
New volunteer engineer Yasin came to help Bob do more surveying |
More south abutment to measure |
Mike sawing, Geoff on the ladder and Graham helping |
Time for Maggie to yield the hammer |
Geoff nailing the roof board on, needing to watch out for water as well as nail |
Time to get safety gear on to avoid doing a water shoot on the other side of the roof |
Mike having a welcome cup of tea brewed up by Graham |
Having a discussion about the felt and adhesive |
