Investigative work by Dorothea Restorations with Mann Williams
This work is funded by the English Heritage grant
Tuesday 28 October 2014
We are in the process of progressing investigations to inform the repair and restoration of the bridge structure. As part of these works we are looking to carry out some trial repairs on a small number of selected areas of plate and riveted locations. The aim is to select areas that are either in an advanced state of decay, or where there are later plated repairs to the original structure. We are keen to ensure that we keep the conservation officer informed of these progressing works so that we can respond to any queries. We met on site to agree the locations of the investigations. These will be chalk-marked and photographed as a record of proposals. The physical investigations were planned to commence the following week.
